This is not some anti-war statement.

But I have noticed a trend. When republicans are in power the country generally does well but the people don't see it because the people are getting screwed.

When the Dems are in power the people are generally happier but the country generally falls into the toliet.

So what is more important. I stress this because I hear people down the social policies of Europe by saying that they are unable to compete or have slow moving GDPs. But the people themselves have more liberties and are more heavily invested in.

Likewise the OPEC nations are usually on the up and up economically. But because oil drives the economy, not the people, the people suffer to the point where strapping a bomb to their chest is a legitimate option.

So what is more important America or Americans? Why? and is a middle ground possible?

I agree whole heartedly with you Blackd...

Man this question must be too complicated for most of YA... maybe I should turn it down or go all excentric and become a demopublican

What the powers that be forget is that without Americans there is no America. We have been forgotten by them in their power struggle. I don't think we should continue to tolerate it. It is time to stand up and take back what is ours!

How can you separate America and Americans. Your question is like asking if the family or the kids are more important. There wouldn't be one without the other.
You can't compare America with European nations. Everything is a give and take situation. European nations don't have to maintain an huge military. They and the rest of the world depends on the USA for global protection. If the USA didn't have to pay for its military, we could afford many of the social programs enjoyed in Europe. Like I said. It's a give and take situation. We have to sacrifice a lot to be the world's protector.

First one must realize certain truths regarding both parties, such as the democrats of today are actually elitists/communists and most republicans are simply lazy cowards of whom most fear standing against the commiecrats for fear of being slandered or having their skeletons pulled out of their closets, thus they sit back and watch the country fall with the rest of us lazy cowards...:(

It should be a balance until we are forced to figure a way out of the growth economics mode. It can't last forever.
