Ants certainly DO have eyes. They actually have 5 eyes. They have two very large and visible compound eyes. These are made up of tiny facets called ommatidia, and can number in the hundreds. These two large compound eyes are responsible for their very limited vision. They also have 3 small simple eyes located on the top of their head, these are called ocelli. These simple eyes are not used for vision, but more for detection of light and photo period.

So the correct answer is 5 eyes, although they use their antennae for most of their navigation and communication.

It depends on the kind of ant, and on its caste.
In some kinds of ants the workers have no eyes
at all.Adult winged males and females usually have
large compound eyes, as well as the three simple
eyes called ocelli. The male's eyes are often
proportionately larger than those of the females.
In a few kinds of ants the workers also have large
compound eyes, though usually their eyes are
smaller than those of the flying males and females.
There are some 10,000 or so different kinds of
ants in the world, which allows for a lot of diversity
in structure and habits.

Hello! Ants don't have eyes. Instead they are provided with flagella (organs like moustache for touch sense), scenting abilities. Recent researches proved that ants talk with their flagella which are composed of micro tubules. So if you want a illustration, try this at your home. Go near a wall on which ants are going in a line and draw a line across that line. Ants come up to the line effortlessly and will confuse at the line which you have drawn with your finger and they will be lost from the line. If they join the line they will go back or move forward...but unless they join the line, they will travel like a lost tourist. This experiment proves you that ans travel using their flagella and scenting abilities and if you erase the scent, they will be lost from the line. So hope you have understood that ants don't have eyes.
