First off....you can't get pregnant just anytime. You can only get pregnant if you are ovulating which is when the egg is present for 24 hours waiting to be fertilized. Most women ovulate approximately 2 weeks prior to their period. So for ONE DAY (24 hours) You can ONLY get pregnant. Now, Sperm can live in you for up to 5 days...depending on what part of your cycle you are. So let's just say you get your period every 28 days. That means you would ovulate about day 13-15 between cycles. If you had sex on the 8th day after your period, it is possible to be pregnant because the sperm could have lived in you waiting for 5 days. If you had sex the day after your period...more than likely NO you can't get pregnant because you didn't ovulate. And even if the sperm live in you for 5 days they still wouldn't stay in there long enough for you to get pregnant.
First thing I would do is find your average cycle. Mine is every 24/25 days I get my period. That means I ovulate somewhere between day 11-14 after my last period.
Once you know your cycle and you know approximately when you ovulate, then you know your fertile days. I would then avoid having sex (if unprotected) around that time so you won't have to worry.
Just remember, your egg is only there for 24 hours waiting for a sperm but sperm could live in you for about 5 days.
If you are NO where near your period or you already ovulated, your body makes its own spermicide to help slow down/kill the sperm.
HOWEVER, if you ARE FERTILE your body produces just the OPPOSITE of a spermicide and it HELPS the sperm to live longer in your body and help them get to the egg faster.
If you JUST had unprotected sex and you realized you could ovulate in the next day or so and you don't want to get pregnant....put a Vitamin C Tablet in your vagina near your cervix as HIGH as possible. Or do this prior to sex. Vitamin C is very acidic and will kill Sperm on contact.
I suggest looking into the woman body because if you know your body and how it works it will eliminate stress of getting an unwanted pregnancy! :)
ON ANOTHER NOTE...don't listen to those who say you don't feel pregnant 5 days after conception...they are liars and haven't been pregnant before. I have been pregnant twice and YOU CAN start to feel it. As soon as the egg goes to the uterine lining to attach your body goes through alot...especially being tired because your body is making a BABY...you get VERY TIRED! Other symptoms of course and they are different for every woman..but trust me, you could feel pregnant after 5 days.

sorry sweetie, five days after unprotected sex is too late to think about avoiding a pregnancy. It also may be too early to detect any symptoms, but you may feel nausious and or some tenderness in your breasts. If you are indeed pregnant, goodluck in what ever descisions you make. If you aren't, you may want to look into some birth control and or emergency contraception which you can take up to 72 hours after unprotective sex.

First off... there are no symptoms to pregnancy 5days later... In about a week you can take a pregnancy test... and to avoid getting pregnant... Abstinence, condoms, birth control options.
If you do not already know this information, then you are to young to be having sex.....
IF you are old enough to have sex, then you should wait until you have a partner that you can trust and explore with... do not just jump in the sack with anyone... HIV is more problems than a pregnancy.

well you could have taken emergency contraceptive the day after but since you havent bothered to look up and see the advances in birth control and you had unprotected sex you really cant avoid getting pregnant if you are.
hmm two choices down first to have sex and second to not use protection. might be time to have a talk with your gyno about your body and all the bad things that can happen to it when you dont know whats going on.

First of all don't have unprotected sex if you don't want to get pregnant. Now that we answered the second part of the question onto the first. Symptoms can vary from person to person. Some people have morning sickness. Some don't. The only way to tell is to take a test and see what it says.

You will NOT have ANY symptoms at 5 days pregnant! It doesn't work that way! You need to talk to a Dr. about birth control. There are many different methods. The best way to avoid pregnancy is to use 2 different methods or birth control. I recommend condoms (they protect against STD like AIDS as well) and spermicide. Of you can look into the birth control pill, but you should still use condoms to avoid STDs!

Do a pregnancy test. You can get a kit at any drug store. If you have already had unprotected sex 5 days ago, there's nothing you can do now to prevent getting pregnant.

Abstinence.....http://www.plannedparenthood.org/birth-control-pregnancy/birth-control/continuous-abstinence.htm
Well, it's to late to ask that question now! It does not mean you are pregnant though. A week is to early to start looking for symptoms. It will take at least a month to see signs. If you skip your period get a test done. Maybe you won't be!!!!
Common sense says "next time use a condom"!!!!! Birth control is a good way(but it does not prevent STD's)!! That's how to avoid it & it's not 100% safe either. The only way 100% secure way is abstinence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would not have any signs of pregnancy in just five days.If you do not want to get pregnant try not having sex and if you wish to have sex use birth control(pills,IUD,ring, shot, condoms).I think if I were you, I would be more concerned of sexually transmitted diseases.I would also look in your community for programs offered on sex education or womans health.

It seems that you are too young to even be having sex if you dont know what to do to avoid pregnancy! Keep your legs shut until you learn about contraception. Look it up on the internet. Ridiculous question!
