I'm not to proud at all. It's amazing what you can find at the dollar store. I'm a little bummed that the actually Dollar Store is getting so big. We used to have tons of dollar stores that weren't from the Dollar store fanchise and they were awesome!!! But alsa the real Dollar Store has taken over. Their stuff is good too but let me tell you these others were awesome.
Here is my Dollar Store story....
We just bought our new house and I was painting my kitchen bright yellow green and orange. I just happend to stop in the Dollar Store for no reason and there they had green yellow and orange plates, and bowls. HTey looked just like fiesta wear! They were great!

I think they are the best thing that has ever come to be in shopping. Why would anyone want to pay so much for every day items when you can get them for a dollar in almost every neighborhood..To much pride is a sin! In this case just plain ignorant too, if they do not shop the dollar store and save.
Now I want to go to the dollar store! To the person who said they would not decorate their house there, guess what I found (wall applications) for $1.00 that the local building companies decorating depts. wanted over $10.00 for the same. I am dancing ,I am so happy about this deal!
On the same shopping trip I purchased 2 craft kits (one dollar each) that included flip flops and all materials( sea shells, beads & cord) to applique both pair. My elementary age child finished them off and gave them as gifts (worth much more then a dollar) to her sister and sister-in-law for Valentines day. Stock always changes and you never know what good deals you may find next.
P.S. Had to give your question a star it is so nice to have a pleasant topic. Thank you!

Not at all. I always try to get my laundry detergent from there; you can get name brand there for cheaper than even at the supermarket. Any cleaning supplies for that matter. But I don't do my gift shopping at dollar stores, unless it's for little stocking stuffers or something like that. The dollar store stuff is just too poor quality to make good gifts. Don't buy clothing from there, either. You'll get maybe a month out of any garment bought from there! lol But for everyday stuff, sure, I'll go to the dollar store. :)

Nope. I love the Dollar Tree store I have near my house. I always buy cards and balloons there. Why pay $5 for a card when you can spend $.50 or $1? And wrapping paper and bows and even balloons. Who wants to go to a party store and pay 10 bucks for 1 Mylar balloon but at the dollar store its a buck. You cant beat that!!!! I buy my kids coloring books and glue and tape. They have a lot of name brand stuff in the dollar store :)

Not me either. The Dollar store has help me get by many times. If I want something to last I probably wouldn't find it at the Dollar store. If it's an everyday item that is not expected to last anyway then I prefer not to pay extra.

Actually, it makes Me PROUD to do it!! There is a wonderful feeling when you get a bargain. We have been on a budget for years with 4 children. I wish they had these stores years ago. You can't beat the party supplies that are so expensive elsewhere. They carry name brand cleaning products that you pay 3 times as much for in your local grocery store chain. No, I am not embarassed, I am proud to save the few dollars to spend on medicines, shoes, clothes etc.

I love a bargain! Love the dollar store! just make sure that you don't buy something that's only worth 50 cents.
The dollar store is great for party stuff, favors, decorations...
If only I could find the person to slap around who closed our local Big Lots.

Hell no, I'm not too proud or foolish enough to not shop at the dollar stores. Anyone who does not shop these stores must have more money than brains!
