I remember a 60 Minutes episode back in the very early 1980s. They were interviewing people who were on welfare. Now, keeping in mind that 60 Minutes is an extremely liberal show, it was amazing to see that they didn't try to edit out the impression one got that almost none of these recipients were even trying to get a job.
They profiled one extended family of four generations, totalling something like 100 people. None of them had ever held a job.
These are the people who don't deserve charity. They made no good faith effort.
Social Security checks are not a gift from the government. Each person has their own account of sorts, and that money belongs to the person who had that money painfully deducted each week from their paychecks, paychecks that already had about 25-30% taken out in taxes. That's like working for the government from January to April.
Yes, all Cons will cash their Social Security checks, and probably bemoan the fact they aren't getting more. They usually deserve it.

Errr...apparently you've never held a real job, otherwise you would know that Social Security benefits are a repayment of money deducted from workers' paychecks....
The issue that most fiscal conservatives (which includes a large number of political liberals, by the way) have with the welfare mentality is that hand outs often become a dis-incentive to lead productive and socially responsible lives.

Conservatives, the those that are completely to blame for the ruination of social safe practices (see Reagan) are required by their ideas to refuse their social safe practices funds, and any Medicare reward they're presented, and, for sure, any unemployment repayment they'd nicely be presented. And, being Conservatives, they're going to settle for those funds because each and each one them that espouse themselves to be conservatives are one hundred% liars as anybody is commonplace with. it really is exactly why Conservatism is now useless. It turned right into a lie from the starting up and has shown itself to be a very ineffectual and defective philosophy. so a recommendations as different amenities are in touch, i'm positive they not at all call the police (in spite of everything, they have their own guns), refuse to pass to any wellbeing facility that could no longer one hundred% deepest, remove their own trash, refuse their agency's contribution to their wellbeing care, pay one hundred% of their taxes and do not hardship with deductions, have served interior the military, make a contribution 10% of their earnings to charity, gained't, in any way, take area interior the present authorities bailouts, will retire completely on their 401K's, and own their own employer.

Absolutely not... I let them put my social security check into my account every month and I'm glad to get it... before the welfare puppies and the medicaire cheats can get it.

We paid for it.
How low of an IQ does it take to realize that.
P.S. - I would LOVE to do away with SS. I would like to pay for my own retirement instead of being held hostage by Dems in Congress.
My guess is you would HATE to have to take care of yourself, since you're a Dem.

Of course we won't. The government is not my preferred charity so when they give my money back, I'll take it, I just wish they'd give ALL of it back instead of giving a portion of it to bums who don't work as hard.

Of course they won't. Self interest is more important to them than the good of the country. The country IS the people folks. Deal with it.
