when does the last trimester actually start?? Is it 27 weeks or 28??????? I keep getting different answers......

I have a doc appt on Wednesday.. so I will ask. The book, What to Expect When you are Expecting says 28 weeks but certain websites say 27... some even 26... confusing... :0) Thanks

Well pregnancy is based on a 40 week scale. So if you divide 40 by three you come up with 13 weeks and 2 days (with a remainder of 1) So 1-13 weeks is 1st, 13-27 is 2nd, 27-40 is 3rd.

I was told 27. When I went in to see my doctor last week she said "You will start your third trimester on Thursday." I am 27 weeks and will be 28 weeks this Thursday so I think 27.

I have a piece of paper from my doctor that breaks down the weeks and it says that 26 weeks starts the third trimester.

you are always going to get different answers on here, your best bet would be to ask your OB.
trimesters go in weeks of thirteen 1-13 is the first 14-26 is the second 27-labor is the third
that is what my OB told me anyway.

Doesn't matter how many times you ask this question, you are still going to get different answers. Just like if you ask does the second start at 13 or 14. Just go with what your doctor says.

3rd Trimester is weeks 27 - 39 (Thirteen weeks just like the first two).

The 27th week is the last week of your 2nd trimester. The 28th week starts you 3rd
