When I go to the doctors and get a strep test...
Are they going to make me take a urine sample?

No, unless they're checking for something else. If you are simply having a strep test done, they will take a long swab and take a sample off of your tonsils. They will then somehow examine this to look for strep bacteria. It doesn't hurt, although you might feel a slight gagging sensation. Nothing to worry about. But, as an overall health analysis, they may take a urine sample. Good luck!

A strep test is normally a culture taken from your throat. They take a long Q-tip and swab the back of your throat and do a culture on a petri-dish.

Well, a strep test by itself only requires a throat swab... but a urinalysis is usually done to see your overall health as well.

No. They will generally just get a throat swab unless you complain of urinary symptoms.
