Since January 2006, I have been invited to interviews for three high profile jobs. Each time I have been rejected but in the refusal letters, employer's praised my CV and interview performance.

After three consecutive failures, I am beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with me or is this just plain old fashioned bad luck.

The need to change job is very important to me as my current employer is downsizing, and it has now become very hard to work in such an environment where your responsibilities are being taken away from you.

Sounds like bad luck. I would definitely move on if your current company is downsizing. If you feel comfortable doing it, contact the most recent company you got rejected from and ask the person you interviewed with what it was that didn't get you hired. They may be able to help you prepare better for the next one, if you know what was strong and what need improvement.

I'd move on. Downsizing is not good. And maybe they are just using you with these interviews. You know. You are easy about it so they will take 2 lessers and 1 that they want to promote and put them against each other. Sometimes they do that to save face with others in the company. It can make you look like a wipping post. I know somebody that worked for over 20 years at a job. They kept downsizing but he hung in there. Now they laid him off. Not good. How do you keep your home and stuff. And now he is almost 50. How's he gonna get a good job at that age. Move on while you can. You can be replaced there. Take your time and find something that you will like and that you can advance in. Good luck.

Don't take it too personally. Maybe those jobs were not exactly right for you. It's a very tight job market, so I would not get discouraged after only 3 interviews. Keep a positive attitude & you'll eventually find the job that was meant for you. Good luck.

Don't give up! Perhaps those jobs weren't right for you. Eventually you will find another great job. Until then, just continue to look and practice I guess. Good Luck!
