what causes the temperature change?

to those people saying endothermic reactions... the energy to break the bonds are taken from electrical energy right? not heat energy

The breaking of the water bonds requires energy.

Electrolysis is a chemical reaction and every chemical reaction involves gaining or a loss of heat.......

In this case, the molecules of the compound would need energy to break from its bonds. Therefore there will b an intake of heat energy, hence this reaction will be endothermic chemical reaction...............
