I use a siphon vaccum for the floor of the tank. But can I wipe down the walls just using a rag? How do I go about cleaing the walls?

I would recommend a sterile pad (preferably one intended for aquariums and acrylic safe if your tank is acrylic)

I recommend wiping the the sides prior to vacuuming so as to maximize the benefit of of your water change.

I find the best way to clean the glass is a magnet glass cleaner that FLOATS, you can get these at your local aquarium shop.
as for the bottom of your SALTWATER tank, if you are using LIVE SAND, DO NOT SIPHON IT, you will end up getting rid of the bacteria and bugs that do A LOT of your filtering for you.
The safest way to clean it is to use animals (sand sifting sea star, hermit crabs, snails...) ask your local saltwater dealer about CLEANER CREW PACKAGES that come with a mix of different animals, they come in different amounts of each for different size tanks.
