Don't you think LEo Di CAprio did a better job?

Leo did deserve the oscar this year! I saw all the movies, and he clearly had the better year. He had two great perfomances blood diamond and the departed. The oscar does not go on the full performance they pick from what they think is the best scene. Does anybody remember the best supporting actress a few yrs ago, that one with only one line. Everybody says he's young, hello he is 32, thats what they said when he was in titanic and wasn't even invited that yr. The same thing is going to happen to him that happened to Scorcese; he'll win one when he is old and everybody will be like well he should have 3 by now, lol. The oscars don't have a good track record on who should of one, alas Marisa tomei.

No way. Leonardo Di Caprio's performance was good, but no more than good. Forest Whitaker's performance was not only the performance of the year - it was the performance of the decade so far. It was the most deserved of all the Oscars, I think.
If you think Leo should have won, I can only guess you haven't seen The Last King of Scotland!

I didn't see either movie, but IMO, Forest Whitaker is an amazing actor and he has done sooooo many movies that were awesome. He deserved this, because he is awesome. Leo is good, he will get one sooner or later!

In these cases, it really comes down to the character and writing. Both can act, but the stronger character and, therefore, outstanding performance went to the right man.
