Best to get an OB. Things can and do go wrong sometimes during pregnancy and it is best to have an obstetrician watching you closely. In your situation (because of where you live and the possible lack of availability of specialists in the area?) you may have to select your family doctor. If you are healthy and take good care of yourself, this option is probably okay. If you have risk factors (overweight, diabetes, history of toxemia, etc.) you should be seeing an OB on a regular basis.

go to your family practice doctor and if he/she thinks you need to go to an OB doctor he /she will tell you.

Your family doc might be able to handle this as my family doc did. Call and talk to his nurse to see what she recommends. I lived in a small town where babies were still born at the local hospital and the local family practice docs still delivered babies. Since you didn't offer much info call your doc and check.

yes as long as the family doc has the proper equipment needed to keep a close eye on the baby . just ask them they will tell you!
