February marks the beginning of Black History Month - an annual celebration that has existed since 1926.
Much of the credit can go to Harvard Scholar Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who was determined to bring Black History into the mainstream public arena. Woodson devoted his life to making "the world see the blacks as a participant rather than as a lay figure in history."
In 1926 Woodson organized the first annual ***** History Week, which took place during the second week of February. Woodson chose this date to co-incide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln - two men who had greatly impacted the black population.
Over time, black History Week evolved into the Black History Month that we know today - a four-week-long celebration of African American History.

Don't know but when is white history month and yellow history month and oh yes Red history month. maybe everybody should get a month and then there will never be anything to watch on TV

The month of February, when kids are studying about black history in school. Please don't get the questions started up again about it though. It finally stopped.

The month where black people shove more of their "WHITE PEOPLE HATE US" sh*t down our throats.
Why don't we have a white,mexican or asian history month?
Because black people would get all pissy thats why and be all "THATS RACIST AGAINST US BLACKS"
