If so, which ones do I need? Also, what tips do you guys give me for going to Japan and making the most of it.

There shouldn't be any required vaccinations if you're traveling from the US. For your own safety, make sure you're up to date on all of your vaccinations. Just carry a phrase book, jump in and try to see everything. We went to Tokyo on our honeymoon.... I won't tell you how long ago. Everyone was friendly and tried to help. It was great. Take the subways. Shop in the stores. Explore the temples. If you can't figure out the food.... point to the plastic displays. You'll have a great time!
