I know these songs are catchy and all, but why do these artists have to celebrate such values like promiscuity, violence and objectification of women in order to make sales? I know other genres of music do the same but hip hop is the most stark genre in endorsing such values.

Yes i agree with you,Rap also has a lot of bad language,There is no need for it..I guess that they get away with it because there is a lot of money to be made in the music industry..

The questions should read, Can anyone with fame and money get away with it? It is not just rappers who sing filthy songs, you find alot of rock stars who also sing about sex and drugs. I think the finger should be pointed at more than one type of music here. Face it if u have money you can get away w/ alot no matter what you sing.
