the answer is Ladainian Tomlinson on offense and Lawrence Taylor on defense...the 2 L.T's

as far as montana goes, i never saw play (before my time) but from what i hear, he had a tremendous team...good defense, good run game...im taking away from his skill, but im sure there are plenty of good qbs that could have been inserted into that team and won......
and absolutely not peyton manning...he is similar to the montana scenario except it took him about 5 years...

U can never tell. Too broad of a subject. U have to ask this question by positions. Maybe a lineman wuz better at what he does than Barry Sanders, but Barry Sanders has the stats, so he gets the credit. There have been many great players in the NFL, at all positions.

I'll say Jim Brown. Yeah he played long ago and players are better now, but if you've seen some of his highlights you'd understand. If he hadn't retired young, his records would be unbreakable. He'd run 80 yards down the field breaking 7 or 8 tackles along the way. He was an unbelievable athlete for his day.

PAUL HORNUNG. The best player would have to do EVERYTHING on the field!

And that is exactly what Paul HORNUNG did, by playing the halfback position as well as being a field goal kicker. During the 1960 season, in just 12 games, he set an all-time record by scoring 176 points. (Additionally, he also passed for two touchdowns, which do not add to his point-scoring total.) He was twice voted the league’s most valuable player

you honestly think Deion was the best player in the NFL??

why??

im a huge cowboys fan and i still dont agree with you.
sure he was a playmaker and all but you cant think out of everyone he was the best.

you must be related to him or something to say that lol

my bests would be:

Joe Montana
Troy Aikman
Walter Peyton
Jim Brown
Jerry Rice
Johnny U.
Emmitt Smith
and the list goes on...deion ranks about 150th all time. sorry dude

Jerry Rice - there is nobody in the NFL that has ever dominated his position like Jerry Rice. Unlike other big records like most career passing yards, most career wins etc., a lot of Rice's records aren't going to be touched for a long long time.

wrong... you can't ask that because there are too many positions that do different things... best corner would not be Deion Sanders he is mostly popular by his returns... it would be Darrell Green if not its Pat Fischer...
Then you got QB's: Favre, Montana, Marino, Manning
HB: Sanders, Brown,Peyton,
The list could go on

hands down........Joe Montana
he had a drive to win and was allmost unstoppable in his prime.
as for Deion Sanders, he was an over rated db that couldn`t take a hit.

You have to be more clear? And you are drunk or crazy to think D.Sanders is the best ever. Someone who was ALWAYS scared to tackle anyone.

I saw QB: p. manning will be the best
RB: emmit smith (cant argue he has the record)
wr: rice

def: The FRIDGE..
K: no comment
