Its an odd question isn't it? But I'm pretty sure I'm pretty devoid of any love whatsoever. So, I turn to you, what should love feel like, what is it too you really?

love for me should feel like being happy most of the time. it is when even the odds in life are then covered by this happiness in your heart, for it is only when you're in love that true happiness is attaned.
when there is love in your heart, there will be no room for negative things since what you have is a very wonderful extraordinary thing.. a bleesing from God.. God is the source of true love.

In my humble opinion there are several types of love. Due to space and time, I'll talk about two. The first type is the overwhelming type. You become so "taken" by someone that they are all you think about and it emotionally hurts when you're away from them. Fortunately, these intense feelings don't last otherwise we'd be useless, but they should mature into a second more lasting type.

That second type is a long lasting, more emotinally deep type of love. It's the kind that the Bible talks about. Love is kind, patient, caring ... etc. This kind, while not as firey and passionate, is what should hopefully be left after some of the initial fire has subsided. What's unfortunate is that a lot of society thinks that only the first type of love is real love. It fortunately lasts only about the first two years of a relationship (I say fortunately, because I refer back to the "we're useless" idea). When they buy into the "sweaty palm" only love. They feel that they are falling in and out of love, they crave that type and go looking for their next "fix".

If you are experiencing the second type of love then you are experiencing a more mature type. However, if you have never truly experienced love then you may want to speak with a physician about this. It may be that you are experiencing a condition called dysthymia. It's a low grade, but constant state of depression (kind of like Pooh's Eeore). It's not a type that would interfere with work or other life areas, but it would make you feel a bit blue all the time.

That seems to be the question that has been asked throughout the ages. I do think it feels a little bit different to each individual person based on the values that you hold more dear to you in a relationship of any sort. I guess I can describe what I would call romantic love.

To me being in love feels like being a little high...you are giddy and you feel like you are walking on clouds. How many times have you heard that cliche? Your heart beats a little faster and you cannot stop smiling as soon as you see the person you love. When you aren't with them, you crave them...you miss them and you think about them all the time. When you are feeling particilarly ga ga about them, you get a funny tight feeling in your chest and you feel like you are just full of love for them. Sometimes it is overwhelming. When you are in love you feel as though you have this incredible bond and this person understands you better than you understand yourself which is comforting and scary all at the same time. When you are in love you worry about that person, you care about their well being...and you want to take care of them and nuture them in a million different ways. The reverse is true, when you are with the person you love- you feel cared for and comfortable in the warmth of their love. When you are in love you really care about what the other person thinks and feels about almost everything. It doesn't mean you have to be of like mind about every single thing...but it does mean you want to understand and respect their view.

When you are madly, silly in love all you want to do is be in that persons arms, feel them breathing next to you and be able to look into their eyes and tell them how much they mean to you.

Love feels like butterflys in your stomach, your heart feels a little fluttery and you constantly want to be with that person you have this love for, but love is not true love unless the other person feels the same about you
