for me it was Sulu (undiscovered country). although i very much enjoyed the lesbian undertones to the janeway/seven-of-nine relationship.

Technically is was Picard, however, my personal favorite will always be Kirk.

Jean-Luc Picard was the better acted character, and certainly came across the BEST as a "CAPTAIN".

James Tiberius Kirk is the prototype, the original... and the "player".

I did like Sulu's character for "Undiscovered Country".

Jean-Luc Picard was the man, classy, intelligent and when push came to shove, hard as nails. Zulu was brilliant in ST:VI as his loyalty to James T. Kirk was clear for all to see but Picard has great history including the so-called Picard Manovere.

I go with Jean-Luc. Kirk was great but the cheesy factor is just too much (and this coming from a fan). Jean-Luc has the tenderness and toughness that makes him a great leader. Besides, he makes bald look kind of "dashing"!!
