About a month ago I'd come across a question asking this and had everybody who said yes thumbs down. And then the asker had picked an answer that didn't think it was wrong as bad. Well let me just say that I'm not here to judge people, but I will not think of you with respect if you were to say fishing was good, "diss" me or my question. Explain your reasons please if you say no.

Fishing is not bad. If done right. There are many that don't respect the environment they fish in, leaving old line just bunched up on the shore or severely injuring the fish trying to remove the hook. When the person fishing respects the environment and knows enough about what they are doing, Fishing is a wonderful and relaxing pastime. There are hooks that don't have the barb on them that make it easy to remove and don't do any serious damage to the fish

That would depend on your point of view. If you are a fish, then fishing is definitely detrimental to your species.
I like to fish, however, and participate in that activity when I can.
I found out long ago that if I do not put any bait on the hook, the fish don't bother me so much and I can still be lazy for a day on the riverbank or in the boat.

Fishing is very, very good.

I love fishing...it's a great way to relax and yet it's exciting. To get good requires thought, strategy and patience.

It's also been a great way for fathers, sons, mothers and daughters to bond over the years and create lifelong memories. I remember fishing with my Dad as a kid, and both of my kids remember our earlies fishing times...and how excited they were to ever catch that first fish. All good times.

I've never heard anyone think it was a bad thing before...I either catch and release...or catch and eat.

Fishing is good for the same reasons that hunting is good. It provides a hobby and food. I don't see it as much different from vegetable gardening in that regard.
Personally, I can't think of any more boring activity than fishing, but I know many people love it.

i don't understand why fishing would be bad? i think fishing when you fish to keep and cook your food is good. i think game fishing or catch and release is bad. a lot of times when you catch a fish you harm it and when you throw it back in the water it is just dieing anyway. and a lot of the competitive fishing requires that you catch a fish and it must be alive when you weigh it in. so they fish has to lie in your boat slowing dieing so you can win a competition. i feel the same way about hunting. it is OK if you are going to eat the animal but not just so you can have it stuffed or it's head to hang on your wall.

ok not totally sure I get the question, but if you are refferring to the act of putting a hook in a body of water in hopes of catching a meal well then to me it is a no brainer. How could that possibly be a bad thing.

Peaople do it for food as well as recreation. Can't see how anyone could find that to be a bad thing. Maybe I missed your question....Lets

I think fishing is good. Its relaxing. I cast my line out into the water, grab a beer, and enjoy the peace and quite around me. I don't have any worry for about three or four hours.
