I'm a pre med students, and I'm taking this semester

Organic Chemisrty
General Chemisty.

In order to get to med school next year I have to have A in all of the above. I'm really good in them and I have awesome professor , except in General Chemistry. He is a terrible teacher and he has no idea what he is taking about and all he does is yell at us and says that we don't even deserve to be here. Anyways should I get a tutor in this subject cuz I have no idea what he is saying or should I try to read the book and understand myself. Though I am against having tutor by that I mean having a tutor myself, is by doing this I'm broking my principles or it's okay to ask for help? I'm so confused and the university adminstration didn't let me change sections.

Asking for help isn't a crime, nor is it against any reasonable principles. Your tutor isn't going to do your homework for you or take your tests for you. All your tutor is going to do is help you understand the material better so that you can get good grades in the class. There is nothing wrong in asking for help in understanding something. If you try to do it yourself, you might succeed, but you might just end up confusing yourself more. Tutors have to have already proven that they understand the subject in most schools, so they should be able to help you understand it as well.

Good luck!

Get a tutor. There is no shame in asking somebody for help. It is not like they would be doing your homework or taking the tests for you.

if you can get good grades just by reading your books, then you dont need one. If not, then getting a tutor wouldnt be a bad idea.

Since you need A's or above, and your professor causes problems,I think it would be a good idea to get one, just so you are sure you won't have to re-take any courses, plus it may makes things easier he doesn't explain!
