Begin by being truthful to yourself and others. Learn to love yourself and then you will love your neighbor. Take responsibility for your own actions and don't go around making excuses. Stand on your own two feet and don't rely on others to support you. Shoulder your own responsibilities and don't expect other people to carry you.

If you are unemployed take steps to find a job and be productive; and while you are looking for a job you can do some volunteer work. Become civic minded and give something back to your community and or country.

Find some role models and emulate them. Develop integrity, compassion and a sense of justice and fair play.
