If you are asking whether or not by tossing the air-conditioner out the window, the family will suddenly be close and caring, I'd say no. If you do that to the television, I'd say yes.

I think modernization has just affected the way in which we think of family values. What are traditional family values have now faced new scrutiny, as eco-friendliness and morality are now much more prominent in our society. Some believe that traditional family values are now immoral and are in need of updating, whereas some believe that they should be upheld and that modern views of morality are not important.

I don't think family values have been destroyed, just modified in different ways.

I think it has taken the hypocriscy out of our relationships, but at the same time, it has reinforced the bad or weak angles in our lives. For example, children were once seen as part of a family. Now we have the right to have children, whether or not we can afford them.
Women have the right to work, and kids have the right to being brought up by strangers.
It's okay to be a cook or cleaner or childminder, provided it's not your own cooking/cleaning/childminding.
Strange world, hey?

All depends what you consider 'family values'.
If you refer to the archaic traditional roles and christian dogma- then yes.
