Can anyone tell me what to expect during my first ultrasound? I am only 10 weeks and a few days pregnant. Will I see any thing good? Or will I just hear something great?

I had one at 10 weeks 4 days... They did an internal ultrasound - so they were able to zoom right in and see the baby... we could see it's arms, legs, umbilical cord, heartbeat...
It was really wierd... because they zoomed in and the baby looked huge - but when they zoomed out to see my whole uterus - it was just a little spec. They baby is only about 2 and 1/2 inches long.

If they are doing a non internal ultrasound - then you will probably just hear the heartbeat and maybe see the tiny spec floating around in there.
Congrats and Good luck!

Well, I've gone with my wife before and it's so exicing to hear your babys heartbeat for the first time and some of the organs. Too earlyu to tell if boy or girl, but be ready when they apply the gel, it's very cold. Don't forget to ask for at least a copy of the film so you could put it on the baby's album as 1st picture! Congrats!

what you will see isnt going to be the easiest to see. the baby is still small, but it is still great. you'll defenetly hear something great. its not time to see the sex, so they may be checking to see teh size of teh abby verses what they have down for as far a long you are. your due date may change if theres a difference in size or anything. they put goo on your belly and move the piece that records teh babies movements over the goo. sometimes you can feel your abbay and see your baby moving away from the instrumant. its always exciting.

Here's a link to my ultra sound photos. I have one from 9 weeks. It should give you a good idea what you'll see. I called it my little froggy at that point. You will see the heart beat & if they user the fetal monitor you'll hear it, but it takes a second to realize what you're listening too!
