I have shares in a listed company that I do not want to sell but want to transfer into a SIPP. Once in the SIPP, and when it makes sence, depending on the market, I will sell them and re-invest in either one of the SIPP fund or other individual stocks.
So far, all the SIPP that will accept shares want me to sell them first and invest the cash, or sell them the day they have been transfered into the SIPP, which is not acceptable

Technically, you cannot do this. You can sell shares and subscribe the cash into a SIPP and then re-purchase them again within the SIPP. You cannot transfer shares into a SIPP.

That is exactly what I've been looking for to no avail. It isn't self invested if that's what you've got to do.
