Asteroid search-and-tracking is getting more emphasis. Recently a threat was identified, asteroid Apophis could hit us in 2036, altho the odds are estimated at 1 in 45,000.

Yes there is a possibility. The question of when is almost impossible to determine. An asteroid is basically debris or trash hurling through space that has broken off form somewhere or something. It is much like asking when will I see a falling star.

Asteroid Apophis has now been shown not to be the threat it was thought to be, though it gave scientists a good run for their money for a while.

yes there is a possibility and technically we are hit with asteroids every day tho they are really small so we call them meteorites and such.
