There are multiple ways of doing this. Either using the system recovery discs, a bootable floppy or cd to format the drive, or delete the partitions and reformat the drive, or using thrid party software for the same purpose. Also if the password lock is in the bios and not the Operating System then you will have to clear the bios password using the switch on the motherboard and then continue from there. Hope this helps

If its a password block re install windows xp or what ever versions u use. This will erase the lock. Otherwise you have to format the hard drive and install windows, all the driver disks for every piece of equipment in your computer then udate all the drivers on the internet, then reinstall all your programs and before all this backup and text documents or pic you want to keep before formatting because you loose everything when formatting.

You are going to need an operating system on a CD rom (or DVD if you have one). You have 2 choices:
1. Throw money at the problem by buying Windows. If you get Vista, your computer may not be powerfull enough to run it, and you will likely have compatability and driver problems for the next two years. Windows Vista will format the hard drive by just insterting the CD, following the directions, altho you MAY have to change the Bios to boot from the CD.
2. Get smart and get an open source operating system for free. An example is www.kubuntu.org
Again, you may have to change the Bios to boot from the free CD.

when booting up your comp press either function five or function 8 you will have to try both sorry, when boot options appear elect to boot from floppy, insert start up disk and type in the format command:format c:\ .failing that press del on start up to enter cmos and change the boot priorities in there.if no floppy elect to boot from cd and restart your comp with operating system cd in tray.you could also try removing the cmos battery of the motherboard with all power removed this could erase your password problem,if you knew your jumper settings you could also try moving jumper from pins 1+2 to 2+3

i presume you mean a windows password, first switch on,as soon the splash screen comes up you see somewhere on that screen at the bottom it will says press ** to enter setup it is usually f8,that will get you into the bios settings, once in there find boot device, and set cd rom as the first boot device, press escape to exit that then press save and exit setup.after that pop in your windows disk into your cd drive and restart the pc,once it starts you will either get a message boot from cd rom or it may boot automatically, once it boots just follow the instructions to format the drive and reinstall windows.

System recovery/system restore. If your reboot your computer when its rebooting i think its f11 you have to hit for system recovery. It will tell you while its rebooting just watch the screen. You caould also do it through your my computer icon. But with password lock sounds like you just have to reboot it and do system restore that way. Good luck

you have to re install the OS if you can't get into the OS. Use your OS installer to format the HDD and install a fresh OS.
