I don't recommend any type of file sharing simply because nothing is private. I have tried this program out before learning about and what I've found is that it makes your computer SO much slower then it should be. It slowed my system down sooo much that i had to return my computer. Lets say you have 20 files of music of your own on that site, anybody and everybody has full access to those files weather its OK with you or not and then once they start to download from your files, your hard drive acts as if it's downloading a whole bunch of things at one time. So if you are web browsing or anything it slows the page loading process.

I've been using Limewire now for about four years without any problems. I now have a nice library of about 20 hours of music.

I have used it for 2 years with no viral attack. The key is using common sense about downloads. Look at size of the item to be downloaded BEFORE downloading. If it seems too small for what it is -- like, a megabyte or less for a movie or song -- it may be a virus. Just playing it safe with some common sense like this will protect you as much as necessary.

Limewire is definitely good. BUT, make sure to run an antivirus or antispyware on the specific file that you just downloaded.

i wouldnt recommend sharing to no one. the reason limewire is free because the sever is based in canada. they have no laws like the u.s. does about music. when you share, hackers and virusus can easily enter your computer. i wouldnt trust sharing
