I will be arriving in Flordia (St. Petersburg) on the 1st. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the temp of the water is right now? I am hoping to go to the beach. Keep in mind I am in WI right now and we have a foot of snow!! So anything has got to be warmer then this. LOL

This is the National Oceanographic Data Center site which will lead you through to the closest buoy data.

You may want to look at this site first http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/dsdt/cwtg/egof.html
It has near real time data. The current water temps are probably around the high 50's- low 60's

The temperature of the water in the Gulf of Mexico on the Suncast (ST PETE) is in the mid 60's. You will be the only one in the beach, that is all i know because no Floridian (like me) would go in the water when its 66 on a 80 degree day. Thats too cold. If you do see people in the water, they are most likely tourist

Daniel is probably right (about "likely tourists"...), but I have a couple more links for you anyway:

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/maps/Central_Florida.shtml

That shows you buoys in the area, and they are clickable for data from them. I notice some of them aren't reporting any data, but buoy EGKF1 reported a water temp of 65.5F a couple hours ago.
