Hot water is not necessary for a bath. Throughout the ages people have been taking baths in rivers, lakes and ponds that are not heated. Actually there are still people today doing that.

If you are taking a cold bath, use soap. Soap is what is going to kill the germs, not the hot water. The hot water is just for comfort. :)

Happy quick bathing. :)

Yes, hot water makes you sweat. It's a good way to detox your body and lose the excess water. Some people can be swollen because of body fluid. And taking hot bath can help lose all those excess weight from body fluid. The Japanese are so crazy about taking hot bath. There are even guidebook on how to benefit the most from hot bath.

I like soaking myself in hot bath too...with my favourite aroma oil and book.....it feels great!

It depends on the weather. If you lived in northern Canada, and especially if it was winter, I think you would need plenty of warm water unless you wanted to die. On the other hand, if you were in New Delhi, in the middle of summer, you would know that you need to put ice in the water that comes out of the cold water tap, unless you wanted to burn yourself.

So, the best type of water for a bath depends on the weather and on your personal health and hygiene. For instance, if you have warts or rashes or something like that, you may want to bathe in medicated water.

As a guy, living in South Florida, I personally prefer a long shower, using a decent massage-head shower, warmish water, bath gel and relaxing music, no lights, and a pretty woman.

Hot water relaxes your body, cold makes you tense. Plus, warm water forms a lather out of the soap.
