Keep your mind active. Read books, do crossword puzzles, do some type of craft. Don't sit idle doing nothing. Be active.

Natural herbals such as Ginkgo biloba and Ginseng have been used for many years in non-westernized cultures. These herbs have shown effectiveness in improving memory and concentration in Alzheimer's patients.
Unfortunately most of the long-term testing of vitamins and herbals has been done in Europe an is just beginning to be applied in the united states. Vitamins and herbals are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and as a result, their medical usage has not been thoroughly tested.

crossword puzzles are great. my grandfather was 87 and did the NY Times crossword every week and he could remember things better than i could most of the time (i'm 24!). so i started doing them and i definitely can see a marked improvement in my memory. i seem to remember seeing an article that activities such as crosswords actually increase the connections between neurons...it's fun and it makes you look like a smarty instead of sitting there playing games on your cell phone!

Uh... are you looking for a 'smart pill?'
There are things that help postpone the effects of aging (like exercise, and fish oil)- but nothing yet that has been shown to actually make people smarter.
