I have started a business which deals with beaded necklaces, bracelets & earrings. I want to expand & supply various shops with the merchandise so I must submit the plan & some pictures of the products to Edgars. At the moment, I am working at home with other 2 ladies. Please assist me.

Your plan should have a clear identity/selling point as well as a target market.

So for example: these are pieces that will speak to young urban professional ladies aged 25 to 40, who are interested in unique pieces of ethnic jewelery to spice up their professional outfits without being overly flashy.

You also (obviously) need a lot of pictures, and if you can, group them into collections so they're easier to comprehend what you're doing, instead of saying: We just design what we like.

www.foxyoriginals.com is a good example of an excellent business - they started back when they were in University, years and years ago, and now they're hitting the big times (slowly but surely).

You also need to let them know how much the pieces will stay within the range of ($20 - $100), because some stores have a pricing range they like to keep in their stores. For example, you'd never see Gap sell clothing items over $500-$1000 in their stores, because their target market only goes for items under the $500 range.

I'd also suggest that you have a plan of your schedule of how many pieces you'll be making monthly, daily, whatever. And how your business is structured with the other 2 ladies - are all of you equal partners? Who is the one who will liaison with the clients like Edgars? And how will this Edgars pay you?

How will they pay you? Are they selling the items on consignment? Example: They keep the items in their store for 'free' as in they don't buy them yet, and only buy them as they sell them. (Best if you're a starting company) Or do they have to buy them straight out, as in a couple per collection, and how many they HAVE to buy each month? (Better if you're a bigger name)

There are of course more things to consider, but if you can buy this book: HOW-TO WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN FOR DUMMIES. I know they look/sound silly, but this book is easy to understand and they cover EVERYTHING.
Hope it helps..

If you want to save a bunch of money on the jewelery your purchasing, you are better off getting it at an auction. You could buy a few pieces there and sell them for up to triple the price else-where. I don't know all too much about this jewelery business, but I know you will make a great one. Good luck. :)
