im thinking of joining the police. anyone got any tips.would i be suitable? i want new challenge. want to be outside. want to help people and make place safer. want to enforce law to catch crims. think i have common sense and good judgement. am fit enuf. dont mind unsociable hrs. want to be kept on toes. dont want a predictable job.

You sound like you'd make a good officer. I know though that if your going to join a department like LAPD, you'll have to go to the academy for a while (six months I think). Then from there on for at least three years, your assignments are chosen for you. It is a good job though, very morally rewarding.

Make sure you give amazing answers on your application form. I slipped up there, and didn't get in even though I've got a degree.

Go for it and hope your successful, without been sarcastic do remember not to abbreviate words in your written entrance exam though.

apply for it, then you will be given a medical test and then there they will see if you are suitable for it.
