Ok, here's the idea: Right now I've got Sprint Nextel and I'm getting ripped for like $100 bucks a month! It's ridiculous!

I've scoped out various providers, but with all the fake sales BS I'm not sure what to believe and what not to believe. Naturally they all talk down the other companies and talk up theirs.

Here are my main priorities:

1. I want a provider with a great signal nationwide.
2. I want a cell-phone that has good battery life - both talk-time and stand-by time.
3. I want a plan around $50 a month, give or take $10

Other than that I don't have any huge concerns. I don't need a camera phone or one of those crazy text phones. I'm not opposed to them, it's just that they're not that important to me.

Post what provider you think is the best vs. which you think is the worst, and why. Also, please try to be factual.

Thanks!

I was with Sprint for 2 years and they suck big fat wooly mammoth ballz!!! I was always being overcharged on my bill. The way they were getting me was double charging me for ring tones. Anyway, I left them last February and went to TMobile. TMobile service is great in my area. I get all bars...NO DROPPED CALLS! I always had dropped calls with Sprint. The plans are cheaper...now they have MyFavs so you can make unlimited calls to your 5 favorite people. Their phones(I have a Samsung) have a pretty decent battery life. Also, they have bundled messaging for text, pix, and IM and you don't have get a data plan to use it. Now, if you want to be able to check your email and use google then you have to pay for TZones which is $5.99/mo. Better than paying $20 for a Power Vision Plan. Go to TMobile.com and do a coverage check for your area and also browse the phones. Buyer beware: Do not get a SK3. I have heard so many complaints about that phone. Most people say the SKII was better. Hope this helps.

I stay in Columbus, and that i've got been given rid of Verizon because of the fact I had problems with insurance in some aspects of city. I now have sprint (who's comparable to Nextel now) and that i've got by no skill had a topic - good fees, good insurance, get a sparkling loose telephone each and every 2 years. (in basic terms have been given a loose Razr.) So i'd say: sprint/Nextel, T-cellular, Alltel, AT&T, Verizon.

We have had Nextel, Sprint, AT&T(which is now part of Cingular), and Verizon. Verizon is hands down the best. I will never change again. They have service everywhere and I never have dropped calls. My husband has Sprint for his business phone and they are just awful. Last year when we were in Maui, we had Verizon service everywhere we went! We can even be on our boat in the middle of a lake in the mountains and have great service. That is something you can't get with other providers! Their plans are very reasonable and they always offer a free phone with service.

t MOBILE IS HORRIBLE. AT&T is always justifying things you can't measure like DATA. They help you by lowering your bill and the next bill will be huge.
