you mean the Union Jack, or union flag of England Scotland and Wales...

its not an offense, it patriotic..to identify with symbols you allegiances. personally i always use the cross fo St George... and yes ive been called rascist, but im not jade goody and i dont care what anyone thinks, I'm English, not British. and i'm proud of it. oh we get told by the coppers to take the flags down, and the social workers are aghast... my flag still flies, my volvo has a couple of big stickers in teh rear window...

the first man who gets jailed for flying the English flag will cause a furore like youve never seen. it is my birthright to fly the cross, our family fought in the crusades...and on almost every batllefield since... it is a right guaranteed to me by King John when he signed teh magna carta a thousand years ago... it is my right, and cannot be taken away without an act of parliament.

By asking this question are you perhaps wondering if the showing of the Union Flag for personal reasons is offensive? Why should it be? Is any other national flag offensive to others? If you have a problem, I suggest that is YOUR problem.

The link you have posted does not work, but the official National Lottery website is at www.national-lottery.co.uk.
Of course anyone can use the flag on their letters.
