I just downloaded the 4 portions of Linux, ie, they are of the filenames "FC-6-ppc-disc?.iso".

May I know how do I use them to create a Linux OS on my computer? I mean, just a comptuter with Linux, and no Windows.

Do I just try to load them from the CD I uploaded them to? What are the steps?

Look it looks like you grabbed a copy of Fedora Core 6. Burn all of the iso images to cds. Go to your bios setup before your os boots and change your boot priority to boot from the cd. Put disc 1 in and off you go.

Oh yeah and it looks like you downloaded the wrong iso's If you have a normal pc get the i386 version.

When burning the ISOs to CDs remember to burn the content in the ISO, not the ISO it's self.
Also, you will need to make the CD bootable.

When I installed Fedora Core 5, I went though 30 CDs figuring out I did the ISO, not the content. Then forgot the bootable. Then my CD drive couldn't make CD correctly...

Congratulations on the wise choice to switch to Linux. Linux starts with a bootloader, usually either grub or Lilo. You can download those to a floppy. However, the easiest way is to get Kubuntu, a Linux flavor, for free at www.kubuntu.org They will even send you a boot CD for free! Postage Free, also!
