Well, don't you have an antivirus software and antispy softwares???

You should download a good antivirus software, like AVG Free or "Antivir" (both are free). Antivir is available at http://www.free-av.com And AVG is available at: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
But, only ONE antivirus software on your computer - never more than one, please!!!!

Then, you also should download a good antispy software as well. Download "Spybot Search & Destroy", "Spyware Terminator" and "a-squared Free" - and scan your computer for malwares, worms, trojans, etc. All these softwares are also free as well.

And do not forget to upgrades all softwares regulary every day, if possible.

Good luck!

I know that recently there is a worm that will hide all you file that will make you feel your files are all deleted but space used still the same.

- If you could get into window, then it's easy for just showing all System and Hidden file......then change the attribute into normal

- if you could not get into window then boot with any boot disk that understand NTFS (most of xp use ntfs file system) to clear all hidden attribute.......(Harren Boot Disk is the choice)

....more option but long to write....

Do a search on the net for "data recovery software". There are plenty of programs out there. In my experience, the shareware versions only let you recover files no larger than about 64kb.
