That is the only thing that my doctor and midwife said that I could take. Try doing a decongestant inhalation. I filled a large bowl with hot water and put a little bit of vickes in it and draped a towel over my head and stayed under there for about 15 minutes. It is also wonderful for your pores!!!

Paracetamol - yes - follow the instructions to the letter though.
I thoroughly recommend steam inhalation - it will get rid of your cold quickly whether you are pregnant or not.
Karvol is very good on your clothes, pillow or a hanky - this will clear your head and will be safe for the little one when a few months old.

If you need to take painkillers, it's safe to take the recommended dose of paracetamol. However, you should avoid aspirin as it can affect your baby's development in the early weeks and, in late pregnancy, affect the onset and length of your labour. Ibuprofen, codeine and painkillers that contain a combination of drugs should be avoided, too.
Avoid taking megadoses of vitamin C. The Department of Health recommends taking no more than 60 mg per day in pregnancy. Vapour rubs, such as Vicks, and cough lozenges are both safe.

Yes, paracetamol is the onlt thing reccomended in pregnancy, but even then, only in moderation, but do take some to help feel better, also LOTS of fluids (hot drinks help) and as much rest as possible.
Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon

I've had 5 kids and have taken paracetemol with all as I get migraines & really bad back pain (& had my appendix out when pregnant with one). All the kids were fine & this is the only pain killer recommended during pregnancy.

Yes, it's the only painkiller that is considered safe to take. As you say, best to take it in moderation.
