I have people pc online dial up. My internet has been connecting and also disconnecting by itself. What can I check on a setting to keep this from happening? Thanks, Misty

Go to high speed internet.. they are about the same price as dial up.. people pc is about $10 right? verizon is $14..
But to turn off your internet go to Internet Explorer.. Tools.. Options.. Connection tab.. and turn off automatically dial a connection.. press okay and try it again ..

Go into Control Panel and then Internet Options and then Connections Tab and it's under Dial-Up and VPN Connections

Your dial up wont connect by itself, but it will disconnect by itself..just like a phone. You have to pick up the phone to dial, but you can be disconnected by a bad connection.
