My power windows on my car are a piece of crap. When I hit the down button, it'll sometimes stick and go all the way down and I have to bang on the armrest for about 15 minutes to get it to go back up. The motor will click, but it won't go up unless I beat the crap out of it. Without looking at it, does anyone have any ideas as to where the actual problem lies? This car is junk on the window aspect...I've had to replace both the switch AND the motor 2 times in the last 3 years. My boyfriend thinks the window may just be off track...is this possible? (Sure would be nice if it is and I don't have to buy a brand new motor/switch/regulator...)

WTF does insurance have to do with it? I don't know of ANY insurance companies in my area that cover normal wear and tear......? Please, though if there is one, email me....(not expecting any emails, though...)

Sorry I believe that the FORD Contour and it's twin the Mystique were a waste of tI'me on Fords part and im sorry to hear that this problem has kept you busy for approx three years...

Imagine having this type of trouble with your transmission or engine how about your ignition and other parts, I say change up to a GM OR Chrysler... at least try keeping it in OUR BIG THREE

I doubt it's the window off track causing this trouble, it's the parts themselves.

Best wishes...

There is a one touch relay in the door for that window, most power windows usually break all the way down or up. You should always stop the window before it hits rock bottom
