Anyone who debates evolution should read this article:

I know it's not going to change their minds but at least it will stop them from asking the same questions over and over again.

As for the person who asked why there are still monkeys: Evolution doesn't say we evolved from monkeys. It says that humans and monkeys evolved from a "common ancestor"

I know this question was a bit of a troll, but nevertheless…

Evolution (the phenomenon) is a scientific fact. Evolution (the explanation) is a scientific theory—because in science the word "theory" simply means "explanation". In everyday language the word "theory" means "guess", but that's not what it means in science. In science it means "explanation". It's that simple.

To be quite blunt I wish that some of the commenters would educate themselves a little. Declaring evolution false when you clearly know very little about it just makes you look silly. Imagine being an expert guitarist and having someone tell you that there is no such thing as a Gm chord.

Sorry for ranting, but I had to get that off my chest. :-)

Evolution. Once one studies it and understands it there should be NO DOUBT that it is true. I have looked into creationism and the only way it works is if there is a god. But with evolution it could have happened with or without a god watching over it. Evolution may be a SCIENTIFIC THEORY but it has been tested and tested again and it hasn't been proven wrong.

k, we are all entitled to our opinions.
I personally think that there is a higher being, maybe not exactly as the Bible sees it, but nonetheless. I also believe that some types of evolution did occur, maybe not to the extent that we learned it in grade school where they told us we came from monkeys, but I believe that the early humans (and this is proven) did resemble a primateish look. I believe that we evolved from that, but does it say in the Bible that the first humans looked like we do now? With no hair, etc.? So, it is all up to what you believe, like I said, I believe that there had to be some divine power to create the universes...yes plural...that are out there, and then it just all happened from there.

Evolution has much proof. Gods have none ar all. Indeed, contradictions and scientific errors in sacred books are evidence that gods do not exist. I see someone mindlessly quotes the silly lilche about why are there monkeys. This shows the person should study science and forget outmoded myths. Comprehend evolution before you reject it prematurely.

No need to choose between the two if you have a solid interpretation of the Bible (you do not take it literally) and if you take evolution for what really is: a theory.

talking of ignorance: ever heard anything regarding philosophy of science? Kuhn, Feyerabend etc....Good luck

although i agree with you.

one does not realy exclude the other. (as many evolutionists(i dont like this term) and christians think they do)

as many christians shouting against evolution dont seem to even know what it means, though many people shouting for evolution dont realy know what it means either.

one example is the answer above ^^, the monkey comment.

Christianity is simply the world's most successful cult. I do find it a bit amusing that Christians are so devoted to a heretical Jewish peasant, but I suppose it's no dumber than any other religion.
