I completely understand where you are coming from. I used to have the same problem- I really wanted to learn the information, but have always been easily distracted, or when I start to read- after a couple minutes I come back to Earth and realize that I didn't remember anything I just went over. It took me a long time to learn how to study and retain the information I was trying to learn. I hope this advice helps.

You really have to find what works best for you. Studying with others and listening to music can be better or worse, depending on the type of person you are. If you an organized individual, flashcards may help- or they may be time consuming and not help you at all.

One of my professors a long time ago said to read one or two pages of the material, stop and think about what you read, and maybe take some notes about what you read that you thought was important in that text. DONT use a highlighter the first time you read info- it switches your mindset and you won't retain as much info. Following this method helped me the best. I just graduated with a 3.87 GPA.

Check out this website and it will help you as well. Good luck in school!

You lack the motivation to study.

Motivation comes from hope , desire for achievement or some times out of fear, insecurity or poverty.

If you are well looked after or are well covered for future, the mind is at ease and then it does not to stresses itself.

In this situation, it will be better to ask the mind , heart and soul as what you wish to do.

Once you get the answer, follow that subject/route.

I am sure you do that activity enthusiastically.

Good luck

Try studying in a group and instead of just studieing with just going through notes and a text book try making flash cards so you can play games like Jeopardy or something else.

I find it really hard to apply myself if I'm at home or in a place with any distraction whatsoever.

So go to a quiet place like a library or reading room and knuckle down there-and dont bring your Mp3 player if you have one

because you think-"Hey I'll study while listening to music"-buddy thats not possible at least not for the easily distracted like us!!

instead of trying to remember things i try to understand them, and explore the ideas, see how they work in other situations etc. then i kind of remember them by accident. It worked for me.
