What a lovely idea- I don't know where you are situated but i would recommend- Chessington Zoo- Sealife Centre Brighton and National History Museum, London.

theres folly farm in tenby west wales, theres everything you need for all the family in there, you have a small zoo, which you can either walk around or get a "train" around the zoo part (the train is a small land train like they have at butlins and porthcawl and such), and theres the farm animals which you can get a tractor and trailer ride to go around these (you will need to go by tractor and trailer to see whats over the road as there is no walkway to those ones) also theres the barn which houses donkeys , horses, cows , pigs etc, in the right season these will have their young present also in the right seasons there is certain times of the day where you will be able to bottlefeed the lambs, milk the goat etc everyone gets a go, then in the next shed you have a pet parlour where the kids can handle guinea pigs and rabbits and find out about the tortoises and spiders etc, also my favourite is the incubator they have which you can watch the eggs hatching my son will never forget seeing a duckling hatch, last year they hatched a baby ostrich in the incubator i wouldve loved that, they also have a theatre, a pub , a restaurant, and a takeaway, and a 50s funfair all the rides from the 50s including the chairoplanes the swingboats, the cakewalk, theres loads, ive read in the local paper that they have recently put an indoor forest in next to the funfair, halloween they had a haunting theme, and xmas time they had santa in the forest in his grotto, ive not seen the forest yet but am looking forward to it,, i hate going same place over and over and always try to do something different , but im not fed up of folly farm yet ive been over and over and cant wait to take the kids again come spring(its open all year but spring time is best as theres more chance of getting to watch the eggs hatching and you have the spring lambs to feed) there are also reasonably priced camping sites close to hand just in case its miles from where you are. its surrounded by theme parks too, you have oakwood, herons brook, heatherton , manor park wildlife centre, all within a mile or two , so would def be worth camping down there for a few days

Dont know whereabouts you live, but my kids love Alnwick Garden (Northumberland) in the summer. There are tons of water features to play in and the worlds biggest tree house to explore. There are huge lawned areas for picnics or if you want something more substantial, there is a coffee shop/restaurant. Its great in the sunshine, my 2 would go every week!!!!

There's always Leeds Castle in Kent, Colchester Zoo, any Sea Life Centre, if you live in Essex there's Tropical Wings in South Woodham Ferrers - you only need to go on to your local website and they should list things to do.

Places I used to go as a kiddie:
Bristol Zoo
Cardiff Castle, Chepstow Castle, Kidwelly Castle
Longleat Safari Park - make sure the monkeys don't nick your windscreen wipers!! That always happened to us in my dad's old Datsun!!!
Tredegar House (Newport)
Bourton on the Water model village
Stratford on Avon
National Museum of Wales
Other great places:
British Museum - the mummies were always my fave, LOL!
Natural History Museum and Science Museum - great fun for kids!!!
RAF Hendon - loads of aeroplanes!! And they can learn all about WWII and the Battle of Britain.
My BF who's a Battle of Britain nut used to love going to Air Shows with his dad - Biggin Hill for instance. Really cool, you get to see loads of flying displays (Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Utterly Butterly wing-walkers) and see planes up close!
He also used to go to Leeds Castle (Supposedly "haunted" so great fun!) and Rochester Castle
Good on you for wanting to take your kids out and let them have fun and learn stuff!!!
Far too many parents just sit on their arses and let the kids watch TV all day, then wonder why their children grow up fat, ignorant and badly behaved! My parents had very little money but always made sure we had loads of interesting outings on weekends and holidays.

My kin and the kin that lived next door would pass on fishing journeys and camp out. from time to time we went without the acquaintances yet we did truly some fishing. I nevertheless like to fish and stay close to the Gulf of Mexico. I absolutely have a confusing time looking absolutely everyone my age to pass fish with me and it really is a lot extra thrilling to have employer and observe who stuck the most and the biggest fish. Our outings from time to time were truly a recommendations and it gave me the sweetness lust. i have performed truly some vacationing around the states yet not at all Europe and that i'd so like to attempt this. if you're having issues getting round, locate a water aerobics classification and get your self in structure and construct power. i'm older than airborne dirt and mud yet i'm no longer the oldest individual in my classification. it really is thrilling and not at all confusing on the body and our instructor performs the oldies notwithstanding the candies for us and that i celebrate with exercising consultation to them.
