I look around this little chunk of realestate called North America, and I see that "we the people" have been given everything we need to keep us from becoming inovative. It seems that no one has a real need to make things that could make the easy life we live in, even easier. If you want to realise why society wasnt obese in the old old days , then just picture this world without fossil fuels and electricity....imagine the world if it went through a magnetic pulse where every mechanical and solid state, man made invention, that was dependant on electricity to operate, right down to a simple digital wrist watch or solar powered calculator, was no longer of any use......we would be free....., then I think about that statement for a second and grin. We would still be owned by our governments like always. Peace

Without inventions. I wouldn't be able to type this to you .I would have to sit by candle light and write a letter but it wouldn't be to you because I do not know you. We take too much for granted and the more easier our life is made the greedier we get and we want more. Instead of taking the time to cook a good home cooked meal ( which I do everyday) most people go to take out or pop something frozen in the microwave .

I do not believe that there is any dearth in creativity in America. I do believe that to the degree that government interferes with the free market, the less you see things being invented/created that have commercial/social impact on our society.

Earlier in our history, the federal government more closely resembled what the founding fathers envisioned. Smaller, not intrusive and subject to the states and the people. During this time period, great advances were made that had tremendous positive impact on society, both in terms of quantity and quality.

The biggest boost that our society could give to the tremendous mind trust that exists in America is the passage of the Fair Tax, which would stop penalizing those that create products and services that society signals they want by buying them.

I do not desire a "society" that is living in the equivilent of a "dark ages" as a result of some catastrophe such as no more electricity or oil refinement.

Therefore, I consider anyone that might envision such a world to be the enemy of society itself.

If we had nothing to our names we would still have everything to gain, free thought is something that cannot be taken nor "owned" by anyone. We are given what we need to lead a comfortable lifestyle (mostly) but there is always room for improvement and I strongly believe that every person has a spark,an idea, something to offer the world that will change it for the better.Finding it and making it a reality may be harder to do.
The greatest weakness with man is that he believes he has the right to claim pocession and power, and with objects he will succeed, however people cannot be held like pocessions and as long as there are people with free will and able minds there will always be growth and improvement amongst the community.
