you have some iron buildup in your water heater, typically caused by rust/oxidation getting into your water tank. Try purging the tank. If you have a water softener, switch to the light green bag of crystals, it removes the rust

Had that problem and it was caused by the water department working on a broken water line outside. Drain the tank and it may fix the problem.

RUST. May as well get another ! If not leaks will form and do water damage.

i was going to tell you the same as Boomaloha there. it is an iron build up probably caused by rust.
