Horoscopy in newspapers is restricted to Sunsigns. However astrology is not sunsigns alone,it is about the relative placement of nine planets in twelve different houses for which the combinations can be in millions. As against that Sunsigns are only 12 in number.I am sure you can appreciate that one cannot divide the entire population of the world in just 12 parts and then say that the fortunes of one twelfth of the population are the same on a particular day. Thus horoscopy in newspapers is nothing more than vague generality.

Many millions of people worldwide consult their daily horoscope before taking action on anything which they may be planning to do that day.
The words 'accurate' and 'horoscope' do not actually go together in that in order to get a 'reading' for a 'horoscope' a person would need to have this done professionally and in person.
What we see in the paper is just a broad brush-stroke approach to each star sign for that day/date.
Don't take it seriously. It's just harmless fun. Isn't it?
BEWARE!
The horoscope has nothing to do with the Devil or indeed God. Each star sign represents one of the gods or goddesses in the pantheon. The reading of horoscopes started with the ancient Egyptians. Every civilisation has them, esp. the Chinese.
Every single day fresh flowers are laid in the chapel of Athena at the foot of the Acropolis of Athens. Why? Athena is the goddess of the city of Athens. You just cannot take chances, can you?
Likewise, if you plan a trip on the River Thames here in London, you would be wise to make an offering to the river god. You can see the most magnificent offering ever made to the God of the Thames, it's in the British Museum. It is the Celtic Battersea Shield. It was made for the purpose of an offering to Old Father Thames, god of the river. It was never used in battle. It is magnificent.
Finally - remember, the Olympic Games cannot be held without the permission of the Gods of Greece. It is the God Apollo who causes the sun, the mighthy sun god, to flash, to light the Olympic flame on Mount Olympus.
Enjoy your daily horoscope.
Tis Olympiagi - To the Olympics - but consult your horoscope first.

No cos one particular horoscope applies to 1/12 of the world which is over half a billion people. And good/bad/unlucky things cant happen to all of them at the same time. Not all half a billion meet the crush of their dreams or whatever on that day.
However sometimes they can be quite accurate but i think that's a fluke.

The relative positions of all the bodies in our Solar System to each other and their positions within the 12 Zodiac Signs, flavour your basic character that is initially set by the Ruling Planet.
An Astrologer draws your individual Birth Chart, by placing at the exact position in the Zodiac, at the time of your birth - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto. Some Astrologers will also take into account a variety of Asteroids.
I can not overemphasize how this combination of influences, positions and inter-relationships, shift what a professional Astrologer considers not only for your Character at time of birth but how the chart of past, present & future moments influence your behaviour and reactions to circumstance, what the public think is predicting the future.
This is in fact more like forecasting the weather but does have the advantage of totally predictable planetary positions.
Your 'Stars' or Sun Sign column as popular in magazines and web sites, use ONLY the Suns basic position in the Zodiac, it can be uncannily close at times but is only the first of many considerations when it comes to understanding you, your motives, how you react in different situations and of great importance to you - how the predictable positions of planets will influence your future. The interpretation of that comes down to the technical skills and intuitive abilities of the Astrologer.

I do not think so. There are millions of us born under different stars and just by chance something that was said in a horoscope was spot on but that is just coincidence. Helll i hope it is wrong, i still read mine now and again and my hubby's. Mine said that i am going to get an increase and that i will get bad news on the 10th, my hubby is leaving with someone else now if i have to believe that i am going to have such a miserable holiday so i just ignore it. I trust him.:)))

Not really. Just a bit of fun. Can't be totally accurate for everyone because to do a proper individual reading need the person's date of birth, place of birth and time of birth to give postions of planets when they were born. This is what the reading is done from.

They are only as accurate as horoscopes are. If you want to believe it you will find things in your day to support your belief. If you don't believe then nothing will happen connected with your horoscope. Personnally I think its all rubbish but if you want to believe it feel free, just don't let it rule your life.

Because there are thousands of people born under the 12 zodiac signs I suppose they have to be accurate for at least 12 of them each day or week, mine never seem to be though.

such as they say Capricorns are calm
such as they say Aquarius' are perfectionist
i have noticed with people this is true but the things they say in the papers are just random things and dont really mean anything. USUALLY

Statistically the horoscope must be accurate for someone who reads it.
