WHat should I do with these reasons that I don't like swim team.
1.my Swim coach says in practice if someone messes up we have to redo that lap over again.
2.I hate having to swim in the begining of the summer with swim team when the water is so cold.
3.It's tireding
4.None of my Friends are on that swim team.
But My parents are only making me do practices no meets.

I told my parents so they said just do the practices..Then I said I do not want to do practices either about 20 times and they said You have to do it for your exercise.

If your parents are the ones behind "making" you do something you obviously do not enjoy, perhaps you can find something else. Is it the "being part of the team" or is it to keep you physically active? Maybe it's just to keep you occupied? If you can determine the reason, maybe you can find an alternative activity that they will support you with.
If it's because the swim team is what they belonged to when they were in school... you're screwed. That's when you enlist one of your friends to join the team to share your misery.
Good luck!

1. Your coach is strenghting you. A person has to do something 365 time before it is habit.
2. Swimming in cold water strengthens your body. Makes it so you barley feel the tempeture.
3. Suck it up. I'm tired too, you don't see me complaining!
4. Then you make new friends, that's why you have the "TEAM" aspect.
Your parents are right. Swimming is one of the best sports you can ever do! Swimming works out every muscle in your body. It gets you heart pumping at a range between 75 and 85 percent of your MHR. Which means it's a great work out for you. Go ahead bike your head off! But you will see that swimming will make you better then most other bikers you bike with...

1. Your coach is trying to help you all by making sure you won't be lazy and swim sloppily (a little extra swimming won't hurt you)
2. After six years on a swim team, I've never gotten used to it. However, you can get over it by just thinking "take your mark, go". You just have to dive in and not think about it, the faster you get in, the faster you will get used to the water.
3. You will get in better shape as the season progresses. However, you can reduce that pain by getting more sleep and actually cooling down at the end of practice. I know from experience that not doing those two things makes for a lot of sore muscles.
4. As you get to know the team better, you will become closer to your teammates. The camaraderie of the meets will help you to bond with them. I've met some of my best friend on swim team and many of them aren't even my age. I would never have met them at school.
Finally, I suggest going to the meets. Your improvements will make it all worth while. I believe that if you stick to it, you will find it very rewarding. If you need any more convincing, swimming is a workout for your entire body. It not only works you legs, but your arms and your abs.

It's difficult when your parents are making you do an activity that you don't like. Some parents are more open and will listen to your reasons and not make you go. Other parents are more authoritative. In this case, you could find another activity (or activities) that you like. For example, tell them you want to take music lessons and tennis. There is a chance that they will let you take these things and there is a chance that these things will end up taking the place of the swim lessons.

Maybe you can ask your friends to join. Having friends in practice is really fun even though its tiring and a strict coach. Or you could just tell your parents that you dont want to go be in the swim team, they'll understand.

If you don't enjoy swimming or competition in it...What is the point of practicing. You need to do a sport that you enjoy.
