In the book it was Islamic Fundamentalist that nuked the East coast. Why does Hollywood feel that its offensive to Muslims but not to white people?

Yes and good question. I wondered that myself. Remember the villians in the book also included a Native American, and no Native American has been held in a negative light by Holywood for 40 years...

they butchered that whole book when they made the movie. It was ridiculous. The concept of the movie was that it was a prequil to before Harrison Ford was in the Clancy movies. That's how they got off using Ben Affleck. At that point in time The Muslims weren't as big of a concern.

Hollywood... political correctness. They would rather portray those who are not doing these things, but have different political views than they do, as the terrorists.
Speaks volumes...
