All of this is true. If you do not know what is capable of happening and you do not know how to fix it, do not bother. If you have a good virus protection like Norton, Pc-Cillin, Macaphee (and many otherrs) then downloading files can be a little easiler. Also, many virus-protection applications will detect the virus/malware/adware/grayware/etc before it is in your computer and clean it up.

Your free space on your pc isn't bad either. You have plenty of room for music.

If you are still interested, i reccomend:
LimeWire
Morpheus
Ares
(there are many choices)

limewire is also illegal fyi, in some countrys if you are caught downloading off said sites, your pc is forefit.

due to the easy nature of file transfur via peer 2 peer; Viruses, Mal-Ware and hackers have little or no trouble infultrateing your system, so if you do download, firstly get hold a a decent antivirus and firewall program, also a bot defender, or else you will find you system goes ... pear shaped .... VERY quickly.

also with regards to what was previously posted to answer this question: Not all viruses stay put when you delete the parent file, many install themselves as part of the operateing systems BASE CODE, or the actual program that runs when you fire your pc up, in other words: deleteing them only serves to spread them around the hard drive. some also destroy key files, example .INI files (part of the windows system) they also can be programmed to target .mp1-4 files .wma files .sys files .exe files .ogg/jpeg/jpg/bmp etc etc

if your hard drive is partitioned, it is slightly harder to keep track of the files, as the computer has multiple volumes, ie more than C: & D: etc but more like C: - O:

p2p sites are fine if you just take a few basic precautions.

I use a torrent system called uTorrent. I always read any comments from other p2p members and ALWAYS scan any downloaded files before opening.

Good luck with your downloading !

Ask yourself this question..."would I allow a stranger to come in my house and install files on my PC not knowing that he could be infecting it?". Thats what you do when you use them!

Limewire is one of the best file sharers, i've rarely got anything that caused a problem and it was always easily deleted.

Don't use it if you don't know how to avoid the hazards.
