because they're not Academy Award type movies
Most action flicks aren't, because they lack substance...the same way comedies aren't normally nominated.

x3 was awesome n i havent seen casino royale but i bet it was gud, i havent heard a bad review frm that movie but oscar standards are diff....
like i didit think brokeback mountain or crash or the aviator or some other many movies that were nominated were awesome. (i think they're gud but not my type.)

because nothing good is ever nominated.
not since 2000 when monkeys must have voted for American Beauty.
i would have picked those two over anything nominated. But only soap opera movies get oscars these days

They are both very good movies, but neither of them was one of the year's five best. Among the most entertaining, perhaps, but not the best quality-wise.
