to take a compliment?
i find this extremely difficult, i asked a question about heart of gold and the answers so far are means caring,loving,put other before you etc... i get this said to me regularly by different family members and friends but i dont think i am doing anything special except been me.
Do you stuggle to take a compliment?

Yes, i do. I will always say aaahhh i don't feel pretty when those around me compliment me. That is wrong though, you should accept the compliment in the spirit that it is given and just say thank-you. I know, i know i cannot talk but that is what i am told alll the time. You must be a lovely person if you get complimented like that and i wish you well, nice having people like you in this world. :)

I hate compliments the first thing out of mouth is "that's not true". You have to learn that people believe you are what they tell you. Be careful though, if you have a heart of gold make sure people don't take advantage of that. Don't chage you must be special to those who know and love you.

Yeah, if someone compliments me I'm usually still waiting for the punchline when I should have been saying thank you.
Guess it's all down to self confidence-the better you like yourself the easier it is to think that someone else would think similarly.
As Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman,
'ever notice that the bad stuff is easier to believe?'.

I used to, but someone did point out to me that what is more annoying is someone not acknowledging the person for giving the compliment..so if someone says something nice about me now, I sincerely thank them for the compliment. Be gracious, and give the love right back...dont reject it!

I think it is rude not to take a compliment with out a smile and a thankyou. however you feel.
If they have taken the time to say something nice to you then thank them,
or they just wont bother anymore.

maybe you are just a nice person. there are too many us who are not nice so thank goodness for people like you! I myself and horrible.
